What is

"Wiltshire Armed Forces and Veterans Celebrations"

The aim of the weekend is to celebrate serving personnel, their families, veterans and cadets of our armed forces.

Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. You can find out more about what they are doing at home and around the world by visiting the official sites of the Royal NavyBritish Army and Royal Air Force.

Trowbridge Park will again play host to displays from serving, retired and veteran military personnel, marching bands, children's entertainment,  flypasts, re-enactor's, static vehicle displays, trade stalls, fair rides, and more.

On Sunday there will be a Parade of Standards followed by Drumhead Service and Beat Retreat.

The Trowbridge Celebrations is now recognised by the MOD

"As one of the top ten UK regional Armed Forces events and the leading event in Wiltshire."

Please visit our Exhibitors and Groups page for further information on who and what will be featured over the weekend.

Could I just pass on my best wishes for what I thought was one of the best organised AFD events I have attended. The band were very much appreciated and lots of the public and event organisers engaged with the musicians, which is always important to them.

Kindest Regards,

Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division | Band Sergeant Major

Thank you very much for inviting me to attend the VIP's Day, which I did enjoy very much. Despite the shower there was still a good crowd and atmosphere. It was a privilege to represent the Legion again, to meet old friends and meet new ones.

You continue to provide a great service for the community. Thank you very much.

Best wishes

William Naesmyth

My wife and I wanted to thank you for a tremendous day on Saturday. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and found the whole experience interesting and rewarding. So much so I even tried to juggle a few things to make the Sunday as well, unfortunately that was not possible.

I know from experience these type of events take a lot of time, effort and planning and have to say to you and your team that a first class event was put together and run. Well done to all involved and look forward to meeting up next year.

"Wonderful armed forces event Really enjoyed the parade & the atmosphere in the park"

Jeff Hooper  "I thought the park looked brilliant at the weekend. Nice to see it being used as it should be. The flower beds were beautiful."

A lady came in to the TIC to say it was a splendid event on both days. Well planned, lots to see and do and something for everyone. She said "It is something for Trowbridge to be proud of".

I’ve been chatting to one of our volunteers and I wanted to share their feedback with you. They said that it was a very well planned and executed event and we were very well situated (a big thank you for that !). They said the organisers were very helpful and co-operative. They were able to set up properly which was great. The three of them thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely attend again next year.

It’s brilliant feedback and you should feel extremely proud of yourself for all of your hard work. I must say though, the event is always very well organised and it’s always a pleasure being in touch with you, you always ensure I have all of the information we need.

Thank you again for inviting us to share the weekend with you.

On behalf of the band I thank you for an excellent Wiltshire Armed Forces Day. We enjoyed being part of the parade and enjoyed the various displays in the park.

Please can thank all your marshals for their professionalism and for their assistance to the band on the day.

Excellent weekend.

Saturday was extremely busy and the space you allocated was great and therefore was able to put the full display on.

Well done in organizing a brilliant couple of days for the Armed Forces It was better than ever and was a remarkable testament to you and your team. It was a real day out for everyone and I was delighted to be there. There was so much to do and see but most importantly it showed the strong connection that Wiltshire has with our Armed Forces The Drum Head Service was just right and made me proud to be British. I hope to be with you again next year as it will be my last as Vice Lord Lieutenant. Well done, a brilliant day thanks to you and your team.
